Cookie Policy

Which cookies the portal uses, what they are for, and how you can manage your consent.

Last updated: 13 July 2026.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used, for example, to keep you signed in or to remember the language you chose.

2. Consent: what needs it and what does not

Cookies strictly necessary for the portal to work and to stay secure (session, CSRF protection, language, and the reCAPTCHA that protects the forms) are exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Article 5 of Portuguese Law 41/2004 — they rest on the legitimate interest of keeping the service secure and are disclosed to you in this policy. You cannot disable them without breaking the portal.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) require your consent. They are off by default and only load after you accept the “Statistics” category in our cookie banner. We do not use advertising, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies.

Each choice (accept, reject, save or withdraw) is recorded immutably on our server as proof of consent (GDPR Article 7(1)). We do not store your IP address; the record uses only a random identifier your browser keeps. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the always-visible “Cookies” button.

3. Cookies the portal uses

Cookie Purpose Duration
.AspNetCore.Identity.Application Keeps you signed in to the client area. Session / until you sign out
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery Protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). Session
.AspNetCore.Culture Remembers the language you chose (Portuguese or English). 1 year
consent-id + cookie-consent Store your cookie choice and a random identifier for it, in your browser. Necessary to honour your decision. 12 months (then asked again)
_ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) Measure site usage (statistics). Created ONLY if you accept the “Statistics” category. Up to 2 years · consent only

4. reCAPTCHA

The authentication and contact forms (sign-in, registration and password recovery) are protected by reCAPTCHA from Google Ireland Ltd., to prevent automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects technical information about the device and the interaction with the page. This processing is necessary for the security of the forms (legitimate interest) and does not depend on consent; Google acts as our processor and its policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. How to control cookies

Analytics cookies are managed in our cookie banner: you can accept, reject, or save only the categories you want. The always-visible “Cookies” button in the corner of the screen lets you review or withdraw consent at any time. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that if you block the strictly necessary cookies you will not be able to sign in or submit forms, the portal stops working.

6. Contact

This Policy is available in Portuguese and in English. Both versions are intended to have the same content. In the event of any divergence or doubt as to interpretation, the Portuguese version prevails.

Only Google Analytics needs your permission, so we know which pages get read. If you decline, the site works exactly the same. The contact page uses reCAPTCHA to stop bots, which is necessary for the form to work: it is explained in the Cookie Policy.
